New details regarding the triple assassination attempt in Memaliaj are coming to light.
A BMW type vehicle was found burning in the village of Bejaj in Gjirokastra. The vehicle is suspected to have been used by the perpetrators. So, the victims have been identified as Shyqyri Kalemi, Marsel Çela and Gledio Muka. Artur Kalemi was injured and is in serious condition.
The victim Shyqyri Kalemi is the father of Andrea (Tiku Kalemi). The other two victims, Marsel Çela and Gledio Muka, are waiters and customers in the bar. The wounded Artur Kalemi is the uncle of Andrea (Tiku Kalemi).
According to police sources, it is suspected that the target of this assassination attempt were members of the Kalemi tribe. Shyqyri Kalemi and Artur Kalemi are close to Adriatik Kalemi, who has been assassinated at least 3 times. One in a Greek island, one in prison and one in Albania. Likewise, in January of this year, Zamir Kalemi's brother was also assassinated in the Great Ring in Tirana.
The investigation group is investigating the continuation of the saga of the murders of Aleksandër Sadikaj and Edmond Papa as one of the tracks of today's assassination. The police suspect that Andrea Adriatik Kalemi is suspected of being involved in the murder of Edmond Papa in December 2022, while Sadikaj, who was killed earlier with tritol inside the car, was a relative of the Kalemi brothers.
" At around 11:20 p.m., in neighborhood no. 3, Memaliaj, in the bar belonging to citizen KK, in circumstances still unclear, citizens Sh. K., 74 years old, MC, 47 years old and GM, 36 years old, and the citizen AK, 57 years old, was injured and was transported to the hospital to receive medical help. The Police Services, upon receiving the notification, immediately went to the scene and set up checkpoints in cooperation with the Local Police Directorate of Fier, Berat, Vlora. Renea Special Forces, National Security Forces, as well as senior leaders of the General Directorate of the State Police have gone to Memaliaj. In the meantime, a special investigative group has been set up under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office and with experts from the Criminal Police Department, where they continue to work at the scene to clarify the circumstances of the event, identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
From the first investigative actions, it is suspected that the perpetrators immediately after the incident left quickly in the direction of Mallakastra with a vehicle which they allegedly burned in the village of Bejaj, Mallakastra. The National Security Forces and Renea have gone to the place where the vehicle is burning, have surrounded the area and continue the control to catch the perpetrators ", the police announced.
The police continued their search during the night regarding the perpetrators of the 3-fold execution that happened almost at midnight in Memaliaj. It is learned that the search operation has been extended to the districts of Gjirokastër, Vlorë, Fier and Berat, while in the field, in addition to the officers of the police departments of each district, RENEA units have also been engaged.
