A 41-year-old Albanian was executed yesterday afternoon in Greece.
Greek police have arrested Mikel Selimaj, 46 years old from Vlora, suspected of being the perpetrator of the murder of Altin Arapaj, a 41-year-old Albanian, whose body was found near a vineyard in the Rafina area.
The incident took place on Tuesday evening in Artemida, where the victim, the perpetrator and two other people had met for reasons that are still unclear. They then got into a car driven by Selimaj and stopped at the intersection of Pefkon and Arionos streets in Rafina. It was there that the crime took place: Selimaj pulled out a gun and shot Arapaj in the face.
Despite his serious injuries, Arapaj managed to walk away from the scene and called his wife, who told her the perpetrator's name. He later died from his injuries.
The victim, on Wednesday evening, had called his wife and said: "Keli shot me. Help me. "Search and I will find me". From the traces of the mobile phone, they first found the device and then the lifeless victim in a vineyard, where it seems that the perpetrator had transported the body.
The main line of investigation into the murder is settling scores for disrupting drug deals, as the two Albanians were previously prosecuted by the authorities for drug trafficking.
