The Italian authorities have put 97 people under investigation, while they have executed 35 arrest warrants. There are also Albanians among them.
The investigations started from an intensive international cooperation activity, thanks to which several conversations exchanged by the suspects through the use of encrypted communication platforms such as "Encrochat" and "Sky ECC" were acquired through European investigation warrants, which enabled the exchange of messages or conversations using cryptophones capable of encrypting the transmitted data and preventing any eavesdropping or interception.
Investigators discovered the presence of a structure in which there was a precise division of duties between members, the availability of large amounts of money, encrypted mobile phones, vehicles equipped with special hiding places as well as safe deposits in which the material was hidden illegal.
The conversations have revealed their ability to maintain relations with Calabrian drug traffickers and other criminal organizations operating on national territory and abroad (including Albanians and Spaniards). Two of the people affected by the restrictive measures have moved permanently to Spain.
