A serious incident is reported to have happened today, where a 39-year-old woman and her 3 children are suspected to have drowned themselves in the Buna river, after violence by the head of the family.
Fisherman Safet Hasani, who found the dead body of the 9-year-old girl, has recounted the first moments when he spotted the victim.
For the "Review" show on Euronews Albania, he said that he was fishing when he saw something suspicious, which he couldn't tell if it was a man or a doll. Hasani said that after seeing it with the light of the phone for a few minutes, he informed the Police, who then discovered that it was the body of a 9-year-old girl.
"I was fishing, with the light of my phone I saw something down there in a depth of about 1 meter of water. I wasn't sure what it was, was it a doll, or a human. After watching it with the phone light for about 10 minutes, I then notified the Police.
After the Police took him out of the water, they found that he was human. Since last night until now, the Police has been at the scene. It was around 21:00, but I made the call about 15-20 minutes late, because I didn't know what it was," Hasani said.
