The testimony of 74-year-old Hekuran Gjoni, who stabbed his son Asim Gjoni, has been revealed.
"My eyes went dark and I hit him," 74-year-old Hekuran Gjoni told police after being arrested for the murder of his son.
The 74-year-old said his son, Asim Gjoni, 37, had been making fun of him for a long time. On Saturday evening, he was having dinner with his son at their home in Kodra e Prifti in the capital, journalist Besar Bajraktaraj reports.
But according to John, his son started to tease him again. At that moment, the father stood up and slapped him during the argument. But the son fought back and slapped him back, knocking him to the ground.
Hekuran Gjoni says that his daughter intervened, yelling at her brother for hitting her father. But according to Hekuran, Asim also hit his sister at that moment. This is the point, according to him, that made him take the knife and hit his son.
However, he stated that the situation got out of control and he did not want to kill his son.
"Asimi had been making fun of me for a long time. Last night at dinner we were eating bread at the table. He started making fun of me again and I got angry, and I stood up and slapped him during the argument. Then the boy stood up too and hit me, and I fell down. Then my daughter intervened and shouted at Asimi why he was hitting his father. Asimi then hit his sister too. At this moment my vision went dark and I stood up, took the knife and hit the boy. The situation got out of control, I didn't want to kill the boy," said Hekuran Gjoni.
Police announced today that Hekuran Gjoni was arrested for murder due to family ties. Meanwhile, Asim Gjoni was a father of two children and part of the Armed Forces.
