Shkodra border police have arrested a Turkish citizen, declared internationally wanted.
34-year-old Azat Oncel from Turkey, accused by Turkish authorities of drug trafficking, was arrested at the customs entrance in Muriqan.
The young man was sentenced by the Serious Crimes Court in Turkey to 13 years and 2 months in prison for drug trafficking.
"At the entrance to the Muriqan Border Crossing Point, the Border Police services, as a result of increased measures and the exchange of information with Interpol Tirana, have detained a citizen declared internationally wanted:
AO, 34 years old, resident of Turkey. The Sakarya/Turkey Serious Crimes Court has sentenced him to 13 years, 2 months and 10 days, the remaining time to be served of this sentence is 10 years and 20 days, for the criminal offense of "Trafficking in narcotics" , the police announced.
