Lezha police have arrested 33-year-old Valentin Kovaçi, who was wanted for robbery with violence and sexual harassment.
Kovaçi was wanted after a report was made by a 30-year-old woman, who reported that he had forcibly stolen her handbag, containing personal belongings, and attempted to have sexual intercourse with her.
The 33-year-old was found hiding in a cave where he was staying in the hope of escaping arrest, while a wallet and two mobile phones, suspected of being stolen, were also seized as material evidence.
"A 33-year-old man wanted for robbery with violence and sexual harassment has been located, arrested and detained.
Crime Investigation Specialists at the Lezha Police Station, in the line of work for the localization and capture of wanted persons, based on police intelligence, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Cave".
As part of the operation, in the area of the Lezha Castle, in a cave, in which he was hiding to avoid the Police, citizen Valentin Kovaçi, 33 years old, resident of Lezha, was captured and handcuffed.
This citizen was declared wanted after on March 7, 2025, a 30-year-old female resident of Lezha reported that this citizen had forcibly stolen her handbag, containing personal belongings, and had attempted to have sexual intercourse with her.
"During the search at the place where this citizen was hiding, the Police services found and seized as material evidence a wallet and two suspected stolen mobile phones ," the police announced.
