The blow was fatal for the woman, while her husband, Bashkim Basha, ended up in the hospital in serious condition. The balance of the carnage may worsen in the following hours...
The dynamics of this event are tragic. Two young men, Hamza Lici and Arlind Bushati, lost their lives, the first at the scene from wounds received from the Kalashnikov barrage and the second at the hospital where he had spent several hours assisted by doctors in the "fight" with death, but which finally lost it in the evening hours of this Wednesday. The mafia attack resulted in a tragic balance, three victims and one seriously injured.

The innocent lives that are being torn in the middle by the barrage of bullets between those who have quarreled with each other, how many come and increase, which raises the alarm that the order and security in the country is becoming more and more fragile. The elderly woman of Shkodra is concrete evidence of how everyone's life is hanging in the balance as long as armed persons circulate freely or plan assassinations against their opponents in the criminal enterprise. But these diabolical plans belonging to the dark world of crime do not ask about the innocent lives who do not know that in X or Y place, street, alley, coffee bar, restaurant or cinema, the battery of shots will be released just because nearby is the target.

No more than 4 months ago, a typical mass murder attempt resulted in an equally dramatic toll, three dead. On the evening of July 21, 2024, Shyqyri Kalemi, the father of Andrea Kalemi, suspected of murdering businessman Edmond Papa, waiter Gledio Muka and customer Marsel Çela were killed in a bar in Memaliaj. As it was learned later, the target of the assassination was Shyqyri Kalemi, but besides him, the bullets spared neither Gledio Muka who worked for a living nor the customer of the bar who had chosen to spend that warm July evening outside the house, until late hours. Being in the wrong place and time cost him his life.

But to better understand how organized crime makes a mistake in targeting by killing innocents, it is enough to remember the assassination of Don Bosco, in Tirana, on March 12, 2023. A woman was shot dead at her place of work, in the premises of a bar. A Kalashnikov volley from a moving vehicle is not intended to intimidate, but the bullets are all concentrated in a small perimeter. 58-year-old Mimoza Paja was at her workplace when her life was taken treacherously. Even her minor granddaughter was not spared from this incident, who received injuries from the broken windows. While 5 other people received wounds in different parts of the body from the bullets, but fortunately they did not result in fatalities.
That afternoon of March 12, the bar of Fatjon Murat, a person much wanted by the authorities, was shot with bullets. The latter is a well-known character to the police. Fatjon Murati is suspected of being involved in the Fushë Kruja massacre, Brilant Martinaj, Besmir Haxhia and Diklen Vata were executed. Also, Fatjon Murati has been convicted of weapons possession and possession of ammunition without a permit. The Prosecutor's Office of Tirana has seized an asset worth 5 million euros from Fatjon Murat.
