Two people have been arrested by police in Tirana after they took large sums of money from citizens, deceiving them into believing they would buy them apartments, and then forging bank mandates.
Two real estate agents, Elvis Ramca, 39, and Veriana Ziu, 34, presented false mandates to construction companies, in order to deceive them into entering into contracts for the sale and purchase of apartments.
"They took large sums of money from citizens, deceiving them that they would buy them apartments, and then forged bank mandates to convince them to deposit them, 2 citizens (cohabitants) were arrested."
The 2 citizens also presented the forged mandates to construction companies, in order to deceive them into entering into contracts for the sale and purchase of apartments.
As a result of in-depth investigative actions, carried out after reports from several citizens that they had been given sums of money to 2 citizens, who had deceived them and had not purchased the requested apartments in exchange, specialists for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes, in cooperation with the services of the Special Operations Force Sector and the services of the Special Forces Sector "Eagle", finalized the operation codenamed "Fake Agents".
During the operation, citizens ER, 39 years old, and VZ, 34 years old, cohabitants, were arrested and handcuffed.
From the investigations conducted, it is suspected that the 2 citizens have taken considerable amounts of money from citizens, promising to buy them apartments.
After embezzling the money, the 2 citizens forged bank mandates to deceive citizens that the money had been deposited.
Then, they presented the false documents to representatives of construction companies, with the aim of concluding fictitious contracts for the sale and purchase of apartments.
"The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police announced.
