Two minor children have lost their lives while another has been seriously injured as a result of a tragic accident that occurred in Durrës. The incident was recorded in the Kënetë area, at around 14:20 in neighborhood no. 15, where a vehicle hit three children, aged around 10.
The collision resulted in fatal injuries for two of the minors, while the third child is in serious condition and is being transported to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana for more specialized treatment.
Meanwhile, the person in the photo is Nikoll Radaci, the driver of the vehicle involved in the tragic accident in Durrës, where two minor children lost their lives and another was seriously injured.
The 57-year-old is in the police station, while it is reported that he was in a drunken state. He was speeding when the vehicle swerved and crossed onto the sidewalk where the three children were playing, taking them by surprise.
After the incident, the driver left the scene of the accident, abandoning the vehicle, but was arrested by the police a few minutes later.
Residents of the neighborhood have reacted in shock after the tragic accident where three children around 10 years old were hit by a vehicle, leaving two of them dead and another in serious condition. They describe the event as a serious tragedy and express shock at what happened in their area, appealing for more checks by the Police and greater caution by drivers.
"We are speechless. To run over a child in front of a house is tragic. There is a problem here, drivers drive fast, drivers drive fast, but the Police should do more checks on this road. The Police never come here, and we have been notified. This is the problem ," said an elderly resident of the neighborhood.
Another resident described the moment of the collision as extremely serious, emphasizing the speed of the vehicles on this road segment.
"We have never seen a more serious incident. I was sitting in a cafe. The children were sitting, imagine the tire there, it took them, it burst there. We have never seen a worse situation. I have only seen it when it creaked, that it dragged them. The drivers drive very fast on this road. Some are even from the neighborhood, without licenses, but they drive like a bullet," he said.
A resident of the area said that two of the children involved in the accident were relatives, adding that there were four children present, the last of whom survived the accident. It is learned that one of the minors managed to escape after hiding behind a bicycle at the moment of the collision.
"People are walking like mad on the streets here. The streets here are becoming a bloodbath every day and night. One is a neighbor here, the other a neighbor there. We have them in the neighborhood, we raised them, they hurt, little ones. Two were troublemakers, one was a friend. Not this one here, we have simple neighbors. One is in Tirana, 2 have died, the fourth has escaped, they say. Let's get things right ," she said.
