Two people suspected of a series of apartment burglaries have been arrested by Tirana police.
Citizens with the initials IG, 34 years old, and AM, 39 years old, have been arrested, who, according to investigations, are suspected of being involved in at least 9 thefts that occurred in recent months.
The suspects were caught on "Panorama e Liqenit" street, while riding a motorcycle that was suspected to be stolen. According to police sources, they were also carrying tools that are commonly used to commit thefts, which raised suspicions that they might be planning other cases.
The arrested individuals have criminal records for robbery and crimes against the person. Preliminary investigations have revealed that they took money, valuables and electronic equipment from various apartments in Tirana.
Police have seized the motorcycle, suspected stolen items, cold weapons and other illegal objects, while investigations continue to verify their involvement in other cases.
"Tirana/The police operation codenamed "Gracka" is finalized. The operation, conducted by Police Commissariat No. 1, to solve 9 apartment burglaries in recent months. 2 citizens, suspected perpetrators of the burglaries, who were caught red-handed driving a stolen motorcycle, in an attempt to commit other criminal acts, were arrested, after items used for the theft were found with them.
Both citizens were arrested previously convicted of robbery with violence and crimes against the person. The vehicle, several stolen items, cold weapons and other illegal items were seized. The services of the Police Commissariat No. 1, in continuation of the investigative and operational work to uncover the previously committed robberies and to bring their perpetrators to criminal responsibility, have organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Gracka", as a result of which the citizens were caught and put in handcuffs: -IG, 34 years old and AM, 39 years old, previously convicted of robbery with violence and crimes against the person.
These citizens were caught on the "Panorama e Liqenit" road while traveling on a suspected stolen motorcycle. From the investigative actions carried out within the framework of this operation, it has resulted that these citizens have stolen a lot of money, valuables, electronic equipment and other miscellaneous items, in 9 apartments, committed during the last months. Work continues to document other thefts that may have been committed by these citizens. The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office, for further actions", the police announced.
