Today marks one year since the serious assassination attempt that on October 30, 2024, shocked Shkodra and the entire public opinion.
In the afternoon of that day, near the "5 Heroes" roundabout in the Dobrac neighborhood, a bloody incident occurred with four victims and one injured.
Hamza Lici, Arlind Bushati and an unidentified person were traveling in a Mercedes-Benz S-Class with Croatian license plates. They were shot with automatic rifle fire from another moving vehicle.
Lici died at the scene, while Bushati was seriously injured and later died in hospital. The third person managed to flee the scene.
But the attack also claimed innocent lives. Flutura Basha, a passerby who was traveling with her husband Bashkim Basha on a motorbike, was involved in the horrific crash after losing control of the targeted vehicle. Flutura died on the spot, while her husband was seriously injured and died a few days later.
A year later, this grave event continues to remain unsolved. To this day, no one has been brought to justice for the massacre that left behind pain, uncertainty, and many questions about the chain of criminal events that have hit Shkodra in recent years.
The victims' families remember with pain that October afternoon, when the barrage of bullets took the lives of four people and left deep marks on the city's conscience.
