Viktor Imer's dream to regain his freedom and get out of prison is extinguished.
It is learned that a month ago a criminal panel of the Supreme Court decided to overturn the sentence of 25 years imprisonment given by the Court of Appeal of Durrës, for the murder of Ilir Xhunga and Arben Paja, which happened in June 1999.
Through this decision given by the Court of Appeal, Imeri, or as he is otherwise known in Vlora as "Tori i Xhihana", was released from prison.
But while dissolving this sentence of 25 years of imprisonment, the Supreme Court ordered to uphold the decision of the Court of First Instance in Durrës, which sentenced Viktor Imer to life imprisonment.
Imeri is currently in a criminal trial at the SPAK Special Court, where he is accused of executing businessman Vajdin Lamaj and Artan Arsin together with other persons such as Emiljano Shullazi and Indrit Taulla in February 2005.
The sources explained that even if Viktor Imeri is acquitted in this criminal process, he will still not be able to get out of prison due to the sentence of life imprisonment that the Supreme Court decided a few days ago.
Imeri is one of the most well-known names in the world of crime in Vlora, and is known as a close friend of Edison Harizaj and Gazmend Braka alias "Gaxhai".
In June 1999, Imeri together with Gazmend Braka attacked in Durrës with machine guns and anti-tank two trusted men of Lulzim Berisha, Ilir Xhunga and Arben Paja.
As a result of this attack, both remained dead on the spot, while Gaxhai and Imeri were arrested by the police the same day in a doctor's apartment in the city of Durrës, as they had entered to hide.
For this event, Gazmend Braka was sentenced to life imprisonment, where he is still serving his sentence. While 24 years after the crime, the Supreme Court sentenced Viktor Imer to life imprisonment.
Viktor Ymeri has also been sentenced by Italian justice to 24 years in prison for the murder of Gëzim Muça and the wounding of Taulant Maska on the street "Via della Traversa del Grill" in Rome.
According to the Italian decision, Viktor Ymeri (Imeraj) alias Tomor Ncucaj, in collaboration with another person, on February 12, 1996, at around 8:00 p.m., on the street "Via della Traversa del Grill" in Rome, fired a firearm at the vehicle "BMW ", inside which were Gëzim Muça and Taulant Maska, causing the death of Gëzim Muça and the wounding of Taulant Maska. Taulant Maska managed to escape by running away from the vehicle he was in.
Who is Viktor Ymeri from Vlora?
Viktor Ymeri is the uncle of Edison Harizaj, a well-known character in terms of the Vlora underworld and beyond.
Edisoni was shot dead in Durrës with 52 bullets while returning to Vlora together with one of his friends Genci Caci, who was killed in this mafia assassination.
The murder of Edison Harizaj was committed only 7 days after Viktor Ymeri overturned the sentence of life imprisonment for the execution of Arben Paja and Ilir Dzhunga, receiving a sentence of 25 years in prison.
At the same time, Viktor Ymeri was considered by the police and the prosecution as one of the closest people to Gazmend Braka, (Gaxhai), sentenced to life imprisonment, after together in June 1999, they executed Arben Paja and Ilir with dozens of Kalashnikov bullets.
