Dubai's iron shield has now fallen. Five Albanian citizens declared internationally wanted by the SPAK Special Prosecution Office have been arrested in Dubai with the aim of their extradition to Albania.
Four of the arrested were wanted by SPAK on suspicion of involvement in criminal activity in the field of narcotics trafficking, while another is accused of computer fraud. The arrests were made following the exchange of information between Albanian authorities and their counterparts in the United Arab Emirates.

Kristo Qirici is the brother of businessman Edmond Papa, killed in Tirana in December 2022. Qirici is accused of being the leader of the group of Eldjan Alushi and Shkëlzen Kraja. Kristo Qirici carried three identities.
"Interpol Tirana continues the operation codenamed "The Wanted", for the capture and extradition of internationally wanted citizens.
As a result of the exchange of information with counterparts in Abu Dhabi, 5 internationally wanted citizens, wanted by SPAK, were captured in Dubai and arrested for extradition to Albania.
-4 of these citizens, specifically KQ, 44 years old, Sh. K., 44 years old, IL, 30 years old, AP, 38 years old, are suspected of criminal activity in the field of narcotics.
-Citizen MC, 34 years old, is suspected of computer fraud.
Also, cooperation continues for the verification of another Albanian citizen in Dubai, who is suspected of using false documents.
"Interpol Tirana continues cooperation to finalize the extradition procedures to Albania of the 5 citizens captured in Dubai ," the announcement states.
