New details have emerged regarding the operation conducted by the Police today in the city of Pogradec, with the aim of capturing persons with high social risk, who are wanted or accused of criminal offenses.
Korça Police have announced that a search was conducted in the homes of 28 people, where shotguns, cold weapons, narcotics, money and illegal items were seized.
It is reported that 6 of them have been arrested for illegal possession of weapons, narcotics and as wanted persons. The detainees are known to be Fation Bono, Eris Çekani, Denis Xhemollari, Arbri Berberi, Aldi Hoxha and Enxhi Xhemollari.
RENEA and the police seized shotguns, pistols, including sophisticated models of disguised weapons such as pen-shaped knives. In several houses searched, 60 million old lek was found in one house, 50 million old lek in another house, 26 thousand dollars, 500 liters of fuel suspected of being smuggled, and mobile phones used for gambling were also seized.
Regarding the monetary values seized during the search, it is learned that 11,059,460 lek (new), 54,330 euros, 29,310 dollars (American, Canadian and Australian), 1,550 Swiss francs and 620 pounds were found.

The operation involved 200 police forces, specifically from RENEA, the National Security Force, the Special Operations Force Directorate, the Korça Local Police Directorate and the Pogradec Police Commissariat. Meanwhile, it is reported that the operation is still ongoing.

The checks are part of the proceedings initiated a week ago for the criminal offense of "Attempted Murder", in relation to the event that occurred on 11.01.2025, where citizen SS attempted to kill citizen NA with a cutting instrument.
The operation involved 200 police forces, specifically from RENEA, the National Security Force, the Special Operations Force Directorate, the Korça Local Police Directorate, and the Pogradec Police Commissariat.
Firearms, shotguns, cold weapons, cocaine, sums of money and other illegal items were seized. 6 citizens were arrested and work continues to arrest other citizens.
As part of the operation based on the decision of the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Korça on allowing the search, a search was conducted in the homes of 28 citizens, in vehicles and various premises suspected of harboring the wanted persons.
As a result of massive checks carried out at the same time in all neighborhoods of the city of Pogradec, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto:
• FB, 35 years old, born and residing in Vërdovo Pogradec, for the criminal offenses "Laundering the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity", "Storage or deposit of contraband goods" and "Hiding income". From the search carried out in his apartment, a monetary amount of 6,015,900 lek, 22,520 euros, 3,200 Macedonian dinars and 2,675 US dollars were found, which are suspected to have benefited from his criminal activity. Also, from the search carried out, hundreds of liters of suspected contraband diesel from North Macedonia and a Land Rover vehicle, year of manufacture 2018, were found in the warehouse in his apartment.
•AH, 34 years old, born and residing in Pogradec for the criminal offenses "Unlicensed possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" "Unlicensed production, possession, purchase or sale of cold weapons" and "Cleaning of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity". From the search carried out in his apartment, 2 hunting weapons and a pistol without a corresponding license, a quantity of combat ammunition, 2 cold weapons of the butterfly knife type were found as well as a monetary amount of 5,043,560 lek, 31,810 euros, 22,915 US dollars, 685,700 Macedonian dinars, 2,920 Canadian dollars, 1,550 Swiss francs, 800 Australian dollars, 620 pounds.
•E.Ç., 41 years old, born and residing in Pogradec, for the criminal offenses "Unlicensed production, possession, purchase or sale of cold weapons" and "Unlicensed possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition". During the search of his apartment, 3 cold weapons (knives) were found, one of them a pen knife, as well as model 56 cartridges.
•D.Xh., 33 years old, born and residing in Pogradec for the criminal offense of "Production and sale of narcotics", after a small amount of narcotics (cocaine) was found during a search.
• AB, 47 years old, born and residing in Pogradec for the criminal offense of "Unlicensed production, possession, purchase or sale of cold weapons", after a cold weapon was found on him during the search (dark iron rod with rubber police handles )
•E.Xh., 33 years old, born and residing in Pogradec for the criminal offense of "Organizing illegal lotteries" after a search of his two mobile phones revealed accounts in his name for placing sports bets for various citizens with the aim of making a profit, as well as a monetary amount of 200,000 thousand lek suspected of having been obtained from this activity. The operation continues.
