SPAK has started the trial in absentia for Jemin Shera, who is accused of organizing the murder of Behar Sofia.
Sofia was executed on February 25, 2021 near the Pyramid in Tirana with two bullets in the neck and shoulder.
According to SPAK prosecutor Doloeza Musabelliu, the perpetrators followed Behar Sofina for six months, until the moment of execution.
Jemin Shera was the organizer of the murder of Behar Sofina and the person who received the order.
SPAK requested 16 witnesses and the question of the co-defendants Bujar Zeza, Xuliano Visha, Skënder Vathi, Leonard Xhixha and Ernejt Shyti. SPAK brought three new expert reports, as well as 168 written evidence. On January 26 at 12:00, the first five witnesses will appear.
Shera has not been found despite the searches made by the police. There was no one in Jemin Shera's apartment in Zallherr, the court announced.
The defendant's brother stated to the investigators that he did not know about his location. The prosecution asked to start the process in absentia, which was accepted by the court.
Jemin Shera's name was registered for the first time by SPAK on March 29, 2022, as one of the suspects in the murder of Behar Sofia. According to SPAK, Shera received the order from yet unidentified persons and then created the criminal group.
We remind you that the Special Prosecutor's Office has requested 30 years in prison for 4 accused for the murder of Behar Sofia, while 7 years in prison are requested for the associate of justice, Ernejt Shytin. Thus, SPAK demands the punishment of Bujar Leza, Leonard Xhixha, Skënder Vathi and Xuljano Visha, while 7 years in prison is demanded for Ernejt Shyti, who has become an associate of justice. Ernejt Shyti was arrested two weeks after he committed the murder of Behar Sofia in Montenegro, while working in construction. He has shown in detail how he shot at Behar Sofia, but also who were the people who had bail and were interested in the elimination of the drug boss.
While after him the other associates Xhuljano Visha, 28 years old, Leonard Xhixha, Bujar Leza and Skënder Vathi were arrested. The latter is suspected as the organizer of the assassination attempt that took the life of Behar Sofia. According to Shyti, his childhood friend, Juliano Visha, first proposed the murder of Behar Sofia.
