A 35-year-old man has been arrested by the police after being caught red-handed cultivating narcotic plants on a plot in Mirdita.
The police operation, codenamed "Coordinates", led to the arrest of 35-year-old Ervin Lleshaj.
During the field inspection, 225 suspected cannabis sativa seedlings were found and destroyed, while some of them were seized as material evidence. The police inform that investigations are continuing to fully document this criminal activity and to identify other persons involved.

The suspected perpetrator is caught red-handed in the plot and handcuffed.
The services of the Mirdita Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the services of the Lezha DVP Operational Force, as a result of controls and investigations carried out with proactive methods following the police operation codenamed "Coordinates", uncovered a case of attempted cultivation of narcotic plants.
During the checks, in the village of Trazhë, the services of the Mirditë Police Commissariat found a plot with 225 suspected cannabis sativa narcotic seedlings.
During the intervention by the Police services, in the plot, citizen E. Ll., 35 years old, resident of the village of Prosek, was caught red-handed, and was arrested for the criminal offense of "Cultivation of narcotic plants".
The seedlings were destroyed by burning, except for a portion that was seized as material evidence.
Work continues to fully document this criminal activity, as well as to identify and apprehend other citizens who may be involved.
