Journalist Aida Topalli has revealed details of the murder inside the yard of a 57-year-old man in Tale, Lezha.
The victim has been identified as Pjetër Kaza, while his family found his body shot with a gun inside his vehicle, which he was parking in the yard of his apartment.
The journalist stated that the crime is suspected to stem from a blood feud and chronologically listed the initial history of the conflict between members of the Kaza and Gjini tribes.
She recounted the event of 1994, when the chief of the Rrëshen police's crimes unit, Ndue Kaza, was killed, and explained in detail the revenge saga that arose after this murder, in which members of the Kaza tribe and the Gjini brothers were killed.
"Let's go back in time to 1994, when the chief of crimes of the Rrëshen police station, Ndue Kaza, originally from Oroshi i Mirdita, but who had come down to Tale i Lezha together with his family, was killed. Ndue Kaza was killed in the center of Rrëshen in 1994, after a conflict that occurred a few days earlier in Tale i Lezha because of a warehouse. Two brothers, Dode and Agustin Gjini, also lived in Tale, who had also come down to Tale because of a blood feud. The warehouse, whose ownership is unknown, opened a conflict between the Gjini brothers and officer Ndue Kaza.
His file is still unsolved at the Lezha General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office. In the same warehouse where the conflict arose, a guard was also killed, also in 1994, while Ndue Kaza was later killed, who according to the prosecutor's file entered to quell the conflict and it is not known whether the warehouse was owned by the Kaza tribe and the Gjini tribe wanted to take it, or owned by another family that intervened. After Ndue's murder, Martin Kaza, his brother, killed two brothers suspected of killing his brother, Dode and Agustin Gjini, in the Laç area, thus opening a long blood feud saga. Meanwhile, after about 30 years had passed, in 2024, Agustin Kaza, the son of Ndue's and Martin Kaza's uncle, was killed in Belgium, who had been extradited from London after being declared wanted for the murder of the Gjini brothers. He continues to serve a 22-year prison sentence for the murder of the Gjini brothers.
"As I was saying, in 2024, Agustin Kaza was killed in an event that was also published by the Belgian media. He was on the balcony of a cafe in a city in Belgium and was shot with at least 4 bullets. He remained in a coma for some time, while a video of his execution was also published, and then he lost his life," she told "Euronews Albania".
