Behind bars for the Elbasan incinerator, GJKKO sets the date for reviewing Lefter Koka's appeal

On June 5, a hearing will be held for former minister Lefter Koka.

The Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime has set the date of June 5 for the first hearing of the appeal of former minister Lefter Koka and other co-defendants, accused of the Elbasan incinerator.

In the Appeal, Lefter Koka contests the sentence of 5 years and 8 months in prison, which was given by the First Instance on October 5, 2023.

The Special Court assessed that the former Minister of the Environment, Lefter Koka, is accused of corruption and money laundering in the case of the Elbasan incinerator.

The former Minister of the Environment, Lefter Koka, has been in custody since December 2021.
