SPAK sends the former Chief Inspector of Territory Protection to Elbasan Municipality for trial for passive corruption.
The investigations have revealed that on April 15, 2024, within the same day, Andri Mehja signed two administrative decisions: the demolition of a tent with metal construction and sandwich cover and the punishment of the person who erected the object with a fine.
Then, according to the investigations, the defendant Andri Mehja, using his duty, requested and received from the VN citizen an irregular financial benefit of 250,000 ALL, in exchange for the reduction of the administrative measure from 1,750,000 ALL to 500,000 ALL.

The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) has submitted to the Special Court of First Instance the request for trial against the defendant Andri Mehja, former Chief Inspector of Territory Protection in Elbasan Municipality, who is accused of committing a criminal offense "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions", provided by article 259/2 of the Criminal Code.
Investigations for criminal proceedings no. 92 of 2024 revealed that on April 15, 2024, within the same day, the defendant signed two administrative decisions:
Decision no. 12, for the demolition of an illegal object of the VN violator, - a tent with metal construction and sandwich cover - in the village "Katund i Ri", administrative unit Bradashesh.
Decision no. 13, for the punishment of a fine against the same offender, in the amount of 500,000 ALL.
Then, according to the investigations, the defendant Andri Mehja, using his duty, requested and received from the VN citizen an irregular financial benefit of 250,000 ALL, in exchange for the reduction of the administrative measure from 1,750,000 ALL to 500,000 ALL.
