The Durrës police have arrested the 64-year-old who killed a person on a bicycle yesterday evening.
According to the police, 64-year-old Milto Çuni, driving his truck, hit the 39-year-old to death and then left the scene.
After several hours of searches and surveillance cameras, the police caught and arrested Milto Çun.
"The accident resulted in the death of a 39-year-old man and he left the scene together with the vehicle, after several hours of searching and monitoring the cameras. The police made it possible to identify, locate and capture the perpetrator.
The Road Traffic Specialists of DVP Durrës, arrested M. Ç., 64 years old, resident of Durrës, in flagrante delicto for the criminal offenses "Violation of traffic rules" and "Leaving the scene of the accident".
At around 5:30 p.m., on 24.12.2024, in neighborhood no. 15 Durrës, while driving a truck, he hit and killed citizen P. P, 39 years old, resident in neighborhood no. 15 Durrës, and immediately left the the place of the accident together with the truck he was driving.
After several hours of searching and monitoring the cameras, the Police identified, caught and arrested the suspected perpetrator. He also blocked the truck as material evidence," the police announced.
