
An Albanian was arrested by the Greek police after he opened fire on police officers.
It is reported that the incident happened on February 8, on the Paiania-Makropoulo road, where the police tried to stop a vehicle but the driver disobeyed the order by opening fire. The police retaliated with shots, but fortunately, no one was injured in the collision.
The collision is related to the attempted theft of the company "ALYKON" on the same day, a company that was also attempted to be stolen on January 13. After the event of February 8, near the company, the police found the vehicle of Albanian citizen S. Sinaj, 20 years old, and inside it the license of his father, citizen Andon Sinaj, 51 years old from Vlora. Suspicions were raised about these citizens and investigations were conducted.
After analyzing the footage, testimonies and other investigations carried out during this period, it was possible to identify the 51-year-old Andon Sinaj as the author of the attempted murder of the police officers, the theft and the attempted theft. On Thursday, the police searched his apartment and a car service he owns in Paiania, Athens. During the inspection of the service, 4 cameras were found filming a public road, a stick and a jacket that it turns out he was wearing during the event. In his apartment, 5.5 grams of marijuana and a hood, which turns out to have been worn during the confrontation with the police, were found and seized. It also turns out that at the time of his arrest he was wearing the clothes he had on during the confrontation with the police.
According to the Greek police, Andon Sinaj is considered dangerous, as he not only opened fire with a pistol at the police, but in the past he also fired at another person without being able to harm him, while he was previously sentenced to 12 years in prison for a case drugs. After his release from prison, his deportation was ordered, but it turns out that he continued to stay in Greece without the necessary documentation. During the questioning, he did not admit the events in the "ALYKON" company and the gunfight with the Greek police.
