The Special Appeal has decided to release Bujar Abedini from prison, who is part of Laert Haxhiu's criminal group.
The decision was made by Judge Ilirjana Olldashi, who changed his security measure from "prison arrest" to "house arrest".
Abedini has been investigated and is being tried in the Special Court for the criminal offense of "supporting the perpetrator of the crime". The case is related to the episode of the murder of citizen Çajup Selimi, an event that occurred on June 1, 2021, at around 9:15 PM, in the "15 Shtatori" neighborhood in Tepelena.
He was arrested in September 2023, during the police operation codenamed "Never Forget", along with several other people.
Laert Haxhiu's criminal group, sentenced to life imprisonment for the "Lushnja Massacre", where two people were killed and two others were injured, was dismantled after the testimony of Artan Tafani, who has the status of a collaborator of justice.
