Part of a criminal group in Greece, the Georgian with 2 identities used the name

Greek police have dismantled a criminal group and released the identity of several members, mostly Georgians, suspected of being part of a criminal group involved in theft, kidnapping, extortion and usury.

During the operation, the Greek police seized cash, drugs, weapons and various suspected stolen items. From the criminal activity, this group had benefited over 200 thousand euros, while their participation in a series of criminal acts is being investigated. The group was structured in the framework of Transnational Criminal Groups and Eurasian Organized Crime Organizations (according to the international terminology "VOR V ZAKONE").

Of the 6 identities of Georgians published, the police have published the double identity of one of them. In the Greek police system, one of the suspects turns out to have two identities, specifically the real one as Giga Tchilaia, 38-year-old Georgian citizen, but also as Gëzim Qemal Elmazi, born on 26.06.1977. This identity belongs to a resident of Saranda, a former officer of the Saranda Police Station, a person with a previous criminal record, arrested for hostage-taking in the 2000s, but also in July 2017 as an assistant to a group of armed robbers who operated on the Greek-Albanian border, where during their arrest in Saranda, 2 pistols and stolen items were seized in the Greek villages near the border.
