The Court of Korça has left in prison, 46-year-old Aleko Myrtollari, who stabbed his wife on Sunday evening.
Media sources indicate that Myrtellari expressed remorse in the courtroom and justified himself for the serious crime by accusing the woman of squandering money and not educating the children.
"My children were left without school because of my wife and they were not educated well. I was working abroad, she was wasting my money here and hanging florins around my neck. My maid smoked cigarettes and the children were out of school when I came from Germany, while the wife had florins around her neck. I regretted the crime", Myrtollari declared in court.
Three days ago, the 46-year-old man surrendered to the police after several days on the run. Meanwhile, the 38-year-old woman is in Trauma, where she was transported by helicopter to receive more specialized medical assistance.
The couple are parents of 3 children, while in this area they had not even 1 month since they had gone to live on rent. Before committing injuries, the perpetrator had removed the children from the apartment. Residents of the area do not know if the couple had conflicts before or not as they are new residents of the area, but they say that they consumed alcohol while the police investigations will reveal the whole incident in advance by the investigation group, suspected to be due to jealousy.
