Suspicious movements betrayed 2 Albanian couriers in Rome, as 3 kilograms of cocaine hidden in the engine of the car and 50 thousand euros in cash were seized.
The Italian police announced that they completed the action in L'Aquila yesterday evening (August 29), with the help of colleagues from the Sassa and Tivoli stations.
The arrested are 24 and 28 years old, whose names were not published, both living in L'Aquila, while the destination was the illegal market in the area and mainly in Abruzzo and Tivoli.
The intervention of the police put an end to the extensive drug trafficking, seizing three packages with natribani wrappers and stamped with "Gamel" (picture of a camel).
The Italian media reported that "for several days, the soldiers were on the trail of two arrested people, suspected of drug trafficking, and the amount seized exceeds the figure of 100,000 euros in the market".
The intervention started at 18:00 on Thursday evening, as the vehicle used by the suspects was stopped for control at the organized checkpoint of Guidonia, outside Rome, writes "Abruzzoweb" .
"After many difficulties, three kilograms of cocaine came out of the hood of the car, hidden under the case that covers the passage of the air ducts and the electrical system. In addition to the drugs, the amount of cash of about 50 thousand euros, found among the Albanians, was also seized", the media write.
The suspects were arrested for "possession of the narcotic substance of the cocaine type for the purpose of trading". The two arrested were transferred to Rome's "Rebibbia" prison, pending the investigative process.
