The Spanish authorities have interrogated the Italian Marco Romeo, the suspected author of the murder of Sibora Gagan, the 22-year-old Albanian who disappeared in 2014, after leaving Rome, where her entire family still lives. Sibora's body was found on June 6, walled up in the apartment where they had lived in the center of Torremolinos.
But the case was reopened and the search for Sibora resumed after the 45-year-old's spontaneous statement while being accompanied for a second murder, that of the 28-year-old Spanish Paula, the mother of his son.
In the beginning, it was Marco Romeo himself who told the Spanish authorities that he had killed and strangled the 22-year-old 9 years ago. But according to what the Spanish media write , when he was questioned before the court, he declared that he is innocent.
The statement is said to have taken place before the walled body was found. But with her finding, he now faces the charge of double murder.
Meanwhile, Sibora's mother, Elisabeta Shahini, has been waiting for the DNA test for 2 weeks now. The delay in the DNA result, which is expected to confirm that the buried body belongs to the young Albanian woman, is reported to be due to the Italian authorities, however, the reasons are not clear.
