11 have been arrested and a 17-year-old minor has been released. This is the balance of a police operation following the brawl that took place on Sunday evening in a bar in San Sisto, very close to the "Santa Maria della Misericordia" hospital.
All the arrested, aged between 19 and 31, of Albanian, Romanian and Macedonian origin, have been sent to the Capanne prison. They are young people living in Panicale, Piegaro, Passignano sul Trasimeno, Montegabbione and Tavernelle.
According to investigators, at around 6:45 PM yesterday, a group of Albanians and a group of Macedonians clashed.
Five of the arrested are known to law enforcement with several criminal records. The first to intervene at the scene were the carabinieri, who were confronted by several people who were being violently beaten.
Two young men managed to speed away in a car and during their escape they hit one of the people involved in the fight. This is a 27-year-old Macedonian, who was later admitted to the Perugia hospital with several fractures in his lower limbs.
Immediately afterwards, reinforcements from the State Police and other Carabinieri patrols arrived, which made it possible to arrest most of those responsible in flagrante delicto. The police are still searching for the two fugitives.
The first investigations, conducted through testimonies and analysis of security camera footage, have made it possible to reconstruct the origins of the fight: a quarrel started for frivolous reasons (a photo taken with a phone), which quickly degraded into an extremely violent clash.
The Carabinieri have found and seized several sticks, one of them 65 centimeters long, as well as chairs and tables used during the fight. A 23-year-old Albanian man attempted to hide a car ignition key inside a flower vase, an act that did not escape the attention of the security forces, who also found a dose of cocaine weighing 0.6 grams.
