A 33-year-old man has been arrested by the police after being accused of starting a fire on Shashica Mountain.
According to the police, Elmaz Fejzaj, 33 years old, a resident of the village of Kaninë, was arrested, who is suspected of having started a fire to clear grass in a pasture in Shashicë and then the fire spread towards the territory of the villages of Kaninë and Sherishtë.
"As a result of the investigative work and rapid actions to identify and bring to criminal responsibility the perpetrators of the arson, the Crime Investigation specialists of the Vlora Police Commissariat arrested citizen EF, 33 years old, resident of the village of Kaninë, Vlora.
The 33-year-old is suspected of having started a fire to clear grass on a pasture land he owned, in a place called "Gryka e Zguros", on the Shashica mountain, where as a result of the spread of the flames, a considerable area of bushes and dense vegetation was burned. The fire also spread towards the territory of the villages of Kaninë and Sherishtë.
"The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Vlora, for further action," the Vlora Police announced.
