An anti-drug operation was carried out by the carabinieri in Italy, while the criminal group composed of Albanians and Italians was destroyed.
The operation was led by prosecutor Claudio Cicchella, against a gang that trafficked and distributed drugs.
The operation started on Tuesday morning not only in the province of Perugia, but also in those of Fermo, Frosinone and Siena with the support of soldiers from the local provincial commands, as well as with air support.
The investigations have lasted for almost 1 year, while the arrested are Albanians and Italians aged 19-44, who supplied and managed several drug trafficking points between Spoleto and Foligno. The group operated in the distribution of cocaine doses.
The arrested allegedly ran a significant business as a result of the sale of narcotics. In particular, the Albanians living in Foligno, now all in prison, were supplied with several kilograms of cocaine per month through a supply channel that led back to the Marche coast and referred to a local representative, their compatriot, who is also located in prison.
In addition to the seizures, numerous loads of cocaine were also observed by some of the suspects, but also many episodes of the arrest and subsequent sale of the drug, which included several kilograms of narcotics which, if thrown into the territory, would have a value considerable.
Cocaine, as soon as it arrived at its destination on the outskirts of the Foligno municipality, was buried and then parts of them were taken for distribution.
During the investigation, the army found, hidden in the forest, a package with about 450 grams of cocaine, as well as 500 grams of seized marijuana, which if sold retail would bring about 60,000 euros.
At the same time as the arrests, checks were carried out in apartments, vehicles and in two commercial buildings, which made it possible to find and seize several doses of narcotics, scales and packaging material, as well as about 40 thousand euros in cash.
