
The Police and the Prosecutor's Office of Corfu have put an end to the action of a criminal organization operating in the cocaine traffic after the arrest of 10 people, while 9 others have been announced as their collaborators, among them an Albanian.
The leader of the criminal group is suspected to be a 38-year-old Albanian and a 45-year-old woman, against whom a criminal complaint has been filed for the creation, management and membership of a criminal organization for the purpose of cocaine trafficking.
For the destruction of the criminal group, the last two-day organized police operation, planned by the Narcotics Prosecutor's Office at the Corfu Security Directorate, took place, in which 10 members of the criminal organization, 5 Greeks and 5 Albanians, were arrested.
Among those arrested is a veteran policeman, who was arrested in 2020 for robbery. With their month-long and methodical investigation, the police fully verified the spiral's activity, Protothema reports.
Co-accused, for participation in the criminal organization, are also 9 other members, among them 3 prisoners with different roles in it, transporters, collectors, while the file also includes 26 other people, who bought narcotics from members of the organization.
The leader of Albanian origin was responsible for finding quantities of cocaine, organizing the leadership core as well as delegating actions to other members giving them instructions for drug trafficking.
The 32-year-old "vice president", locked up in a detention center, was mainly involved in the organization of drug transport from Athens to Corfu, while the 45-year-old had the role of "observer" in Corfu, as she was responsible for receiving drugs from " transporters", forgery, distribution of quantities and then the sale of these traffickers by order of the "leader" and "vice president".
As part of the investigations carried out by the police, a pistol, the amount of 5600 euros, a quantity of cocaine, 2 cars and 8 mobile phones were found and seized.
The total amount of cocaine traffic, from the criminal activity of the group during the period under review, is estimated to exceed 1.5 kilograms, of which 950 grams were seized, while the total financial benefit is calculated at 95 thousand euros.
The arrested were sent to the Criminal Prosecution of Corfu.
