After the last incident where 23-year-old Gëzim Sinomati was killed, the Police of Vlora have increased controls in the city in order to combat lawlessness.
The local police, supported by the National Security Forces and the "RENEA" Special Department, have arrested two people, while two pistol firearms, military ammunition and a car have been seized.
The arrested are Armandi Beqiraj and Sino Llanaj, who possessed pistol firearms, one in the apartment, the other in the vehicle.
"Following the controls that are carried out in the field, within the police mega-operation coded "Rule of Law", the services of the DVP Vlorë, supported by the National Security Forces and the Special Department "RENEA", based on the information provided by the police intelligence , have hit 2 cases of illegal possession of weapons. For these cases, the citizens were put in handcuffs:
AB, 21 years old, resident in Vlora, after during the search in his apartment, the Police services found and seized 1 firearm, pistol and combat ammunition;
S. Ll., 48 years old, resident in Tirana, after during the control of the vehicle he was driving, on the "Fier-Vlorë" highway, the Police services found 1 firearm, a pistol with combat ammunition.
The 2 pistol firearms, combat ammunition and the vehicle driven by the 48-year-old were seized as material evidence.
Controls continue with the aim of capturing wanted citizens, citizens who circulate with firearms, who are a potential risk to commit criminal events. The procedural materials for each case were handed over to the Prosecutor's Office for further investigative actions," the police announced.
