Three houses in the city of Lushnja were engulfed in flames today.
The incident happened around 17:30 in the Loni Dhamo neighborhood. First, the fire broke out in a private apartment and then the flames spread to the other two apartments.
After receiving the notification, the fire brigade and the police officers took the residents out of the houses. With circumstantial means, they destroyed the side walls, the door and the roof from where they entered to extinguish the fire.
In the apartment where the fire broke out, everything inside was burnt, including used clothes that were sold in the market. They were able to take out the household furniture from the other two apartments.
The director of the Lushnje fire department, Xhezmi Metushi, says that the situation is under control and that other apartments and residents are not at risk.
According to preliminary investigations, it is suspected that the fire was caused by an electrical spark.
