
The Traffic Police of Tirana has continued with field controls, while for 6 days it has fined more than 8,000 drivers.
It is learned that 17 people have been criminally prosecuted for violating the traffic rules.
Also, 9 vehicles were blocked due to lack of documentation.
"From February 12 to 18, 2024, here are some of the activities and measures taken:
17 people were prosecuted for criminal offenses in traffic, in cases that include driving while intoxicated, without a driving license, under the influence of narcotics, violation of traffic rules, and active corruption.
8720 administrative measures have been imposed during this week, divided into different categories such as black windows, speeding, failure to wear a seat belt, failure to respect white pedestrian visas, and many others.
59 measures have been imposed for driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding violations, with the possibility of converting the fine to double the maximum.
9 vehicles were blocked for various reasons, including unliquidated obligations and lack of documentation", the police announcement states.
