Three Albanians involved in criminal activities such as drug trafficking and being part of criminal organizations have been extradited to Italy.
The operation was carried out thanks to the close cooperation between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Rome, leading to the surrender of Albanian Albert Koni and citizens with the initials: RA, AF.
"As a result of the coordination of operational actions between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Rome, the procedures for the extradition from Albania to Italy of Albanian citizens, declared internationally wanted, on behalf of Italy, were finalized:
-Albert Koni, 51 years old, after the Turin Court, in 2025, sentenced him to approximately 4 and a half years in prison for the criminal offense of "Production and sale of narcotics". During 2017, he sold the narcotic substance Cocaine in public places in the Arona and Novara areas;
-RA, 21 years old, after the Court of Milan, in 2024, assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense of "Trafficking in narcotics", committed within the framework of a criminal organization. He is accused of being part of a criminal organization that trafficked large quantities of narcotics in Milan during the period 2022-2024;
-AF, 39 years old, after the Court of Genoa, in 2024, assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison", because he is accused, within the framework of the "COOK 2020" operation of the Italian Police, of drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons, committed within the framework of a criminal organization", the announcement states.
