A 36-year-old man from Kruja will be investigated at large after attempting to enter Albania with 240,000 euros undeclared.
According to the police, the suspect is Geri Spahiu, 36 years old.
The amount of money was seized as material evidence by the Rinas Border Police services.
"He attempted to enter the Republic of Albania with 240,000 euros undeclared, the 36-year-old is being prosecuted. 240,000 euros are being seized."
As a result of thorough checks at entry/exit of the country, with modern detection equipment, risk analysis, in-depth interviews, detailed verifications of travel documents, with the objective of preventing and ascertaining illegalities at the border, the Rinas Border Police services have uncovered another case of non-declaration at the border crossing point of considerable amounts of money.
In this case, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where proceedings were initiated against citizen GS, 36 years old, resident of Krujë, who, during a second-line check, was found to have 240,000 euros, which he intended to bring into the Republic of Albania, without declaring it in accordance with the law," the police announced.
