The police of North Macedonia announced that they have seized 32 kg of marijuana which was being transported from Albania to the neighboring country.
Drugs worth 120,000 euros were seized at the entrance to Gostivar and were hidden inside 3 bags in the trunk of a car.
" Two Mercedes passenger vehicles with Skopje registration plates were stopped. The first, in which there were KL, 35 years old and VB, 46 years old, from Skopje, residing in Matka i Eperme, and the Albanian citizen G.XH, 42 years old.
In the second vehicle, which was driven by MA, 44 years old, drugs were transported ", the police informs.
The police announced that they signaled him to stop, but the car did not stop and tried to escape, but was soon stopped and three bags with about 32 kilograms of marijuana were found in our luggage.
According to the Macedonian authorities, the criminal group has been organized since September 2023 by an Albanian citizen, who was wanted with an arrest warrant in the Republic of Albania and in other European Union states, also for illegal drug trade.
In the period from September until now, he has organized the transport of drugs from Albania to the state of North Macedonia, with the aim of selling them in Skopje.
The police arrested the 5 people and conducted raids during the day in five locations in Skopje, during which marijuana and other material evidence of involvement in the commission of criminal offenses were found.
