A 25-year-old man in Malësi di Madhe had broken the house arrest measure to carry out the theft of a gymnasium and an apartment.
According to the police, Ejllo Mitaj was under house arrest for the criminal offense of "Aiding illegal border crossing", but he broke the house arrest measure twice for stealing.
"Malësi e Madhe/Zbardhet theft committed on 05.12.2023, in the gymnasium of the village of Gruemire. A 25-year-old man was arrested and handcuffed for breaking the security measure "House Arrest", designated for the illegal transportation of immigrants, to commit the high school burglary and a residential burglary.
The investigation showed that in order to steal from the gymnasium in the village of Gruemire, the 25-year-old cooperated with a 23-year-old, who is currently under security measures at IEVP Lezhë, for the production and sale of narcotics. As a result of the in-depth investigations carried out by the Crime Investigation Specialists of the Malësi e Madhe Police Station, within the framework of the "Rule of Law" mega-operation, in order to clarify the theft of some equipment, carried out on 05.12.2023, in gymnasium of the village of Gruemire, it became possible to identify the suspected perpetrators of the case.
Following the procedural actions, the EM citizen, 25 years old, resident in the village of Grudë, Malësi e Madhe, was arrested and put in handcuffs. The verifications showed that the 25-year-old had broken the "House Arrest" security measure, set by the Court, for the criminal offense of "Aiding illegal border crossing", to carry out the theft of 8 computer equipment in this high school, as well as to steal on 23.01.2024, electrical installations and equipment in the residence of citizen IA, in the village of Grudë.
Also, additional procedural materials were referred to the citizen PK, 23 years old, resident in the village of Gruemire, as he is suspected to have cooperated with the citizen EM, to carry out the theft in the gymnasium of this village. Currently, the citizen PK is in the IEPP Lezhë, with security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Production and sale of narcotics". The procedural materials were handed over to the competent prosecutors for further action," the police announced.
