Two Albanians who used a plane to illegally transport migrants from northern France to an airfield in Essex, Great Britain, have been jailed by a court on charges of people smuggling.
Myrteza Hilaj, 50, and Kreshnik Kadena, 37, both of Leyton, east London, were found guilty on Friday at Southark Crown Court.
It is about 9 trips of Albanian immigrants in 2016 and 2017 to Great Britain. Hilaj was the organizer while Kadena helped him by serving as a pilot of small planes. Migrants traveling to Britain paid sums of up to 10,000 pounds and several hundred pounds after landing on false documents.
Hilaj, who had moved to the UK in the 1990s and previously worked as a restaurant owner and security guard, supplied migrants with false documents.
How did the scheme work?
The group's pilot, Kreshnik Kadena, would take off from North Weald Airfield in Epping Forest, Essex and fly to Le Touquet Airport on the coast of northern France to pick up three to four migrants to smuggle into the UK. on every trip.
