
The Police Supervision Agency (AMP) has arrested two State Police employees, on duty at Police Station No. 3 in Tirana, in flagrante delicto, accused of the criminal offenses of "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions" and "Abuse of office".
According to AMP, the investigation began immediately after the publication of a video on social media, where two officers were shown taking money from a driver and in return not penalizing him for the violation.
After verifying the footage and conducting investigative actions, officers with the initials DB, 25 years old, and EK, 23 years old, both part of the General Patrol at Police Commissariat No. 3 in Tirana, were arrested.
AMP informs that investigations are continuing to identify other persons who may be involved in this case, while the procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Tirana for further action.

The Tirana Regional Directorate, following the investigative actions carried out under the direction of the competent Prosecution Office, has arrested in flagrante delicto two State Police employees suspected of having committed the elements of the criminal offenses "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions" and "Abuse of office", committed in collaboration, provided for by articles 259, 248 and 25 of the Criminal Code.
- D. B, 25 years old, with the rank of Inspector, with the duty of service troop in the General Patrol at Police Commissariat No. 3, Tirana;
- E. K, 23 years old, with the rank of Inspector, assigned as a service officer in the General Patrol at Police Station No. 3, Tirana.
The investigation began immediately after the publication, on 16.07.2026, of the footage on the social network "Jeta ħed Qef", which was fully analyzed and verified by the investigative structures of the AMP.
Investigative actions continue to identify and document the criminal responsibility of other persons implicated in this event, in view of the criminal offenses provided for in Articles 244 and 301 of the Criminal Code.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Tirana.
The Police Supervision Agency remains fully committed to the fight against corruption, abuse of office and any other form of illegality by State Police employees.
"We thank citizens and the media for their contribution in denouncing cases of violation of the law," the AMP statement said.
