A 48-year-old Greek citizen lost his life yesterday evening in Saranda, after being taken to the hospital without signs of life by several people accompanying him.

The victim, Pavlos Simeriontakis from Athens, was left at the hospital premises by several people, who after leaving him there immediately left in a white vehicle with Greek license plates.

According to their testimonies, the 48-year-old was in Albania for commercial purposes, along with other people who sell kitchenware. In recent days, the group had been in Fier, while yesterday they were in Konispol, from where they planned to leave for Greece through the Qafë Botës border crossing.

According to them, Simeriontakis felt unwell before the departure and then lost his life. They also stated that the victim had been suffering from diabetes for years.

The final cause of death is expected to be determined by forensic expertise, while investigations continue.
