The police reacted after the injury of the FNSH police officer. According to the police, the officer was mistakenly injured by his colleague.
It should be noted that it is about the police officer Inspector with the initials Xh. L., who is in the hospital, out of danger for life. While the police officer K. Ç. has been suspended from office.
"On 15.02.2024, around 12:40, in the premises of the Tirana Public Security Unit, police officer Inspector K. Ç., while preparing for training, is suspected to have accidentally fired his service weapon and as a result is Police officer Inspector Xh. L. was injured in the leg and is in hospital, out of danger, while Police officer K. Ç. has been suspended from duty.
An investigative team was immediately set up under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction in Tirana and the procedural actions for this case are being carried out by AMP.
The Directorate of Professional Standards has started an in-depth administrative investigation into the non-compliance of standard procedures for carrying and administering belt weapons by Police employees.
At the end of these actions, the Prosecutor's Office, the Judicial Police and the AMP have started criminal proceedings in a free state, for the Police employee K. Ç., for negligent injury ," the police announced.
