
Two Albanians who were transporting about 10 kg of cocaine, from Austria to Italy, have been arrested by the police in Rome after a very long pursuit.
It was the investigators of the Flying Squad of the State Police, on the morning of February 6, who spotted a car with two people on board, in transit, which then entered the A1 highway heading north. The police, having established that the vehicle had crossed the Italy-Austria border in the afternoon of the same day, decided to follow the movements of both.
The agents, after conducting a careful surveillance service, were able to establish that the subjects in the same car were returning to Italy in the late morning hours of February 11 and after spotting them at the border, followed them to Rome.
In the capital, the car stopped, late in the evening, in via Cislago near a bar, then near the house of one of the two in via Cusano Milanino, and finally parked in via Palmarola Nuova and returned home.
In the early hours of the following morning, investigators saw them take the car to go to Via Gregorio XI near a garage. The police waited for them to leave the garage with the vehicle and stopped them, identifying them as two citizens of Albanian origin, 26 and 54 years old. Officers searched the room used by the two and found several "mechanical tools, such as a jack and a stand, and several black plastic bags, inside which several doses of cocaine were found, while in a hollow, handmade in the door of fire, blocks of cocaine with a total weight of about 4 kg. Further, after a detailed inspection of the vehicle, 6 packages of cocaine with a total weight of more than 5 kg were found inside the "front engine compartment".
Then the investigators extended the control to the apartment used by the two, where they found the amount of 18 thousand euros in cash, divided into banknotes of different denominations and 3 smartphones. Both were arrested as they were seriously suspected of the criminal offense of possession for the purpose of trafficking narcotics and were placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
