The Prosecutor's Office of Tirana has decided to dismiss the case for the death of 32-year-old Lear Kurti. According to the investigation, it turned out that the death was caused by an overdose of narcotics.
The request of the prosecution together with the results of the investigation has been submitted to the court.
The event happened on October 22 last year.
How did the event happen?
On the evening of October 19 at around 11:00 p.m., Lear Kurti was walking on "Riza Čuka" street when a patrol of police station No. 3 asked him to stop, but the 32-year-old man did not obey and ran away. After an escape of about 400 meters, the young man was caught by the police on "Don Bosco" street. In the preliminary notice, the Police Supervision Agency says that during the escort the 32-year-old man had a health problem and emergency help was requested. Sources from the blue uniforms said that the young man had body tremors and vomiting. Since the young man's condition was getting worse, he was taken by police vehicles to the hospital where he died.
According to the announcement, from the autopsy performed at the Institute of Forensic Medicine, it was found that in the stomach of the victim was found a torn white plastic bag with dimensions of 5x5 cm, suspected to be packaging of narcotics, which was subjected to examination at the Scientific Police Institute. There were no injuries or signs of violence on the victim's body. The marks created at the moment of handcuffing were found on the wrists.
