Messolonghi was shocked by the tragic death of the 50-year-old Albanian woman.
It all happened shortly after 21:00 on Friday, September 29, when the woman went to a butcher shop to clean up with her 18-year-old daughter.
As the 18-year-old was cleaning the entrance of the store, she heard screams from the kitchen and ran to see what was happening.
Then, she saw her mother caught by the hair in the meat slicer and chopped up. The girl went out into the street, started calling for help, and the Firefighter rushed to the store to save her.
According to the information, the 50-year-old woman had been working at the store for a month and went from Monday to Friday.
At the same time, according to the butcher's father, the machine has a safety switch and only works twice a week.
"There is a security key, there is a general one. We always make sure the safety switch is down for all cars. The security was down, but the girl turned it around. Apparently he pressed the button and what happened happened," said the owner's father to the Greek media.
The woman had been living in Mesolongji for two years with her two children, an 18-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son, when she came from Albania, after separating from her husband. According to information, she also lived at home with her mother. The body of the unfortunate woman was sent to Patra for an autopsy, while the burial is expected to take place in the following days in Evinochori.
