After the sniper execution of 23-year-old Gëzim Sinomati in Vlora, RENEA forces have intensified controls in the coastal city.
According to the information, for the second day in a row, the blue uniforms have set up checkpoints on the entrance and exit roads of the city. It is learned that the operatives are checking the vehicles that move in the city, mainly those with black windows and are looking for wanted people and those who circulate with weapons and drugs. Investigations and checks are currently being carried out for the murder of the 23-year-old.
The number of those involved in the murder of the 23-year-old has gone over 30. It is thought that they may have knowledge about the circumstances of the execution and that they may provide clues to help the investigation.
Also, the main track on which the investigations are focused is that of revenge. This is because Gëzim Sinomati is the son of Sokol Sinomati, who is in prison for murdering a person in the 2000s. He was a member of the Gaxhai gang that operated in the coastal city in the 97s.
The young man himself does not have a criminal record either in Albania or in Belgium, the country where he lived and from where he returned a few days before the murder to celebrate the end of the year holidays.
The 23-year-old was shot by a sniper from close range while smoking a cigarette on the balcony of his apartment. It is suspected that he was shot from the terrace of a building under construction nearby.
After the execution, the author left the scene in a BMVV car, which he burned on the outskirts of the 24 May neighborhood in the coastal city. It is believed that he was helped by other people to leave the place where he burned the vehicle to lose his tracks.
