Korça police have escorted several people as part of the investigation into the murder of a 78-year-old man in the village of Bulgarec, a few kilometers from the city of Korça.
According to sources from the investigation team, there are suspicions that the perpetrator of the crime was acquainted with the victim. This element is suspected to have facilitated entry into the apartment without signs of violence or resistance.
After committing the crime, the perpetrator is suspected of leaving the scene by locking the exterior door, which made it difficult to immediately uncover the incident.
According to preliminary information, a family member entered the apartment through the window, then opened the door from the inside for police officers.
It is reported that the victim was found with two head injuries, which are suspected to have caused his death. The final cause is expected to be determined by forensic expertise.
"This morning, in the village of Bulgarec, Korça, citizen G.(M). V., about 78 years old, was found without signs of life in his apartment, where he lived alone. The body has been sent for forensic examination, in order to determine the exact cause of death. The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is working to clarify the circumstances of the case.
