A 44-year-old man in Durrës has been arrested by police, suspected of turning his tattoo studio into a base for collecting heavy weapons, with the aim of trafficking them to criminal groups and individuals with criminal records.
During the operation, authorities seized 2 firearms, a grenade, combat ammunition, a cold weapon, and a pair of handcuffs.
Authorities have also released footage from the intervention, showing the moment an agent knocks on the door and then armed and masked forces enter the premises to arrest the 44-year-old.
"2 firearms, 1 grenade, combat ammunition, 1 cold weapon and 1 pair of handcuffs were seized. The 44-year-old man who possessed them in his business (tattoo studio) was arrested in flagrante delicto, suspected of trafficking.
The Illicit Trafficking Investigation Specialists of the Durrës Police Department, in cooperation with the Narcotics Investigation Specialists and the Special Operational Force of the Durrës Police Department, in continuation of their work to crack down on criminal activities, based on information obtained through operational channels, organized and finalized the operation codenamed "Hidden Line".
As part of this operation, citizen V. Rr., 44 years old, resident of Durrës, was arrested in flagrante delicto as a suspect for the criminal offenses of "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", "Trafficking in weapons and ammunition", "Illegal production, possession, purchase or sale of cold weapons" and "Illegal possession of uniform".
During the search of this citizen's premises (tattoo studio), in neighborhood no. 4, Durrës, the following were found and seized as material evidence: -1 pistol firearm, 1 Kalashnikov firearm, 1 grenade, 2 combs and combat ammunition of various calibers, 1 cold weapon (metal handle), 1 pair of police handcuffs, weapon cleaning tools and 1 mobile phone.
"The investigations suspect that this citizen possessed the weapons for the purpose of trafficking. Work continues to identify other citizens who may have been involved in this criminal activity. The procedural materials were referred to the Durrës Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police announced.
