A 36-year-old Albanian man has been arrested in Italy, suspected of setting fire to his ex-partner's apartment in the city of Comiso, in the province of Ragusa.
According to Italian authorities, it is learned that the incident occurred a few days ago in the "Corso Ho Chi Min" area, where the suspect is believed to have used flammable materials to set fire to the apartment after another conflict with his ex-partner.
The flames completely engulfed her apartment, causing extensive material damage, but without spreading to surrounding buildings.
As a result of the fire, both were injured and transported to the "Guzzardi" Hospital, where they received treatment for burns and carbon monoxide poisoning, but fortunately their lives are out of danger.
After being released from the hospital, the 36-year-old was arrested and taken to the Ragusa prison, where he is being held at the disposal of justice. It is suspected that the incident is related to the ongoing conflicts between the couple and the recent separation, which he had not accepted.
