At the request of SPAK, the Special Anticorruption Court (GJKKO) dismissed the case against Lulzim Berisha and Plaurent Dervishaj for the murder of businessman Vajdin Lame.
This is the second time that the Special Prosecutor's Office comes with a request to dismiss the case, with the argument that there is no evidence implicating these two people in the murder of Lame.
The first time, the trial body returned the request to the prosecutor Elida Kaçkini, asking the latter for additional investigations.
The accusation against Lulzim Berisha and Plaurent Dervishaj was raised after the testimony of the associate justice Luftar Reçi. The latter created problems for the well-known names of the world of crime, who operated mainly in Tirana, Durrës and Vlorë.
A few years ago, in three confessions, Reçi confessed several criminal events involving well-known names for justice.
Vajdin Lame, the president of the Boxing Federation and his bodyguard Artan Arsi were killed on February 27, 2005, in one of the towers behind the "Qemal Stafa" stadium.
Lame and Arsi were executed with a quantity of explosives which was placed in the elevator of the building where Vajdin Lame lived.
The latter died on the spot while Artan Arsi died on the way to the hospital.
For the event of February 2005, Emiljano Shullazi, Indrit Rusi, Viktor Ymeri and Indrit Taullai were charged.
